Building Control

DBCP works to government codes of conduct and recognised industry regulations to protect people's safety and health and welfare in and around buildings.

Building Compliance

Every project is different, that’s why our Building Control service is bespoke to each individual project, ensuring the most effective and efficient service is provided.

Fire Risk Assessment

Fire risk assessments are legally required to be undertaken at any non domestic property. Fire Risk Assessments can be provided for your project through our partnership with LABC.

Street Naming & Numbering

If your project is based within Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire, we are responsible for street naming and numbering in those areas.

Energy Efficiency Advice & Assessment

 Through our partnership with LABC, we can supply a wide range of energy and sustainability advice, testing and calculations to homeowners and construction professionals.

Demolitions & Dangerous Structures

From garden walls to entire buildings, we can advise and act on dangerous structures and help you through the process of submitting a demolition notice.

DBCP is a Local Authority Building Control (LABC) partner

LABC represents all local authority building control teams in England and Wales.

As an LABC partner,  our team of professional surveyors provide fast, impartial advice and services on a 'not-for-profit' basis to home and property owners, architects, plan drawers, developers, building contractors and other professionals to ensure buildings are safe, healthy and efficient to meet the standards set by the building regulations.

We are committed to ensuring your project is delivered on time and to the highest standard possible; our partnership with LABC is just one of the ways we deliver this.

Our LABC partnership brings a wealth of benefits to our customers, including:

  • LABC Warranty. This protects your build from structural damage that may occur during the first 10 years after build completion
  • Easy access to the planning department, highways engineers and local fire services. This can significantly speed up your project  and help ensure your deadlines are met.
  • In-depth expertise on structure, fire, acoustics, warranties, access, contamination, energy and sustainability from LABC specialists.

Barn Conversion

The Linked Barn, is a prestigious barn conversion developed at Dunston Grange Farm by the two-time LABC award winning bespoke construction firm, Lynnic Associates Ltd

Single-Storey Extension

The rear of this 1920s semi-detached house was extended with a single-storey extension to create a large open plan, modern kitchen.

iHub, Derby

The multi award winning iHub Derby is the centre-piece of the £12 million Infinity Park. DBCP building control surveyor Richard Palin advised both the architect and builder throughout the 50-week build.
