Building Regulations Compliance

When you've finished your build, getting the work certified by us shows that it meets compliance, to you and future owners. If it complies with Building Regulations, we will issue a completion certificate.

If you do not follow the building control procedures set out for handling your building work or you carry out building work which does not comply with the requirements contained in the building regulations, you will have contravened the regulations. We will ensure that the building regulations are complied with during the course of your building work.

In a situation where we consider that your building work does not comply with the building regulations, DBCP has enforcement powers and can serve a Section 36 enforcement notice before the expiration of 12 months from the date of completion of the building work.

Failure to have a Building Regulations completion certificate can impact on the sale of your property.
