Have a brew on us with DBCP Tea

DBCP Tea

Fancy a cup of DBCP tea? Celebrating the best loved brew of construction workers in the UK, DBCP now has its very own branded tea; perfect for warming up DBCP’s team of building control surveyors out on sites doing inspections this winter.

According to research by AppliancesDirect.co.uk, 82% of construction workers in Britain argue that regular tea breaks aid productivity. Despite the rise of coffee culture, the builders brew was still the firm favourite, with 56% of those surveyed saying tea is their hot drink of choice during their break.

DBCP Tea was launched at the recent 2022 Love Chesterfield Awards, where all three of the finalists in the Regeneration Award category, sponsored by BHP Chartered Accountants, are clients of DBCP. The Grade A office accommodation – One Waterside Place, Badger Croft housing complex in Loundsley Green, and Belvedere House Care Home were all shortlisted for the prestigious award, with Badger Croft taking the title on the night.

More than 250 people attended the Love Chesterfield Awards celebration which was organised by Destination Chesterfield and sponsored by EntireFM – Complete Facilities Management. At the awards, DBCP sponsored the event celebrity host, the much-loved EastEnders icon, Shaun Williamson.

Northern Tea Merchants director James Pogson was at the Love Chesterfield Awards to receive the Sustainability Award for the business.

In addition to the Regeneration Award, there were a further 14 winners on the night, including Northern Tea Merchants, which supplied and packed DBCP Tea. The Chesterfield tea and coffee merchant also won the Sustainability Award on the night recognising the company’s efforts to become more sustainable. Since beginning its sustainability journey earlier this year, the business has already offset over 500 tonnes of carbon dioxide created just from the cultivation of the tea, coffee and cocoa that it sells.

According to a survey by thegrocer.co.uk, more than a third of consumers aged between 18 and 34 believe it is very important to buy tea that is sourced sustainably.

David Pratt, DBCP Building Control Manager, explained: “There’s nothing like a hot drink when you’re on site during the colder months and we’re delighted to have been able to partner with a local independent business, Northern Tea Merchants, to source and pack our tea. They’re good quality, sustainably produced teabags; what’s not to like about that?”

In addition to One Waterside Place, Badger Croft and Belvedere House Care Home, The Batch House was also shortlisted for Best New Hospitality Business. The Batch House is the eating and drinking space within the Glass Yard development which DBCP worked alongside developer Blue Deer Ltd to provide building control services during the construction phase in 2021/22.
