Jobs & Careers at DBCP

Established just over six years ago by merging the experienced, professional Building Control teams of eight local councils, we have created a forward-thinking, innovative business which is growing rapidly and profitably.

We are the largest provider of building control services in Derbyshire and Staffordshire Moorlands, a position we are able to maintain and enhance by supporting every member of our team to contribute positively to our ongoing success.

The security of a successful, growing business, combined with the challenge of continuing our expansion and development are just two of the many attractions of working for DBCP.

We currently have the following vacancy:

Customer Services Administrator

Location: Chesterfield

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Closing Date: Midday 06/02/2025

It is an exciting time to become a part of Derbyshire Building Control Partnership. Based in modern offices at Dunston Innovation Centre, you will become a part of a small, effective team who are involved with all matters relating to ensuring that building projects in and around Derbyshire and Staffordshire Moorlands comply with UK building regulations.

In your role, you will be the first point of contact for builders, property owners, architects and anyone else who want to make a Building Regulation application. You will then ensure that the applications are registered and processed in a timely, accurate manner and that customers are kept up-to-date on progress.

Although previous experience of working within a building control environment would be an advantage, we will be offering comprehensive training, so it is not essential.

It is vital, however, that you have experience of providing effective customer service support as well as developing a rapport with a diverse range of people including the general public and business community.

Organised and able to meet deadlines, you will also need to combine outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a sound proficiency in Microsoft Office.

In addition to salary, we are offering an attractive benefits package, including generous holiday entitlement, flexible working and membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme. In addition, we are committed to supporting ongoing professional and personal development.
