Energy-Efficiency Advice and Assessment

Tackling climate change has meant that there are several strategies that affect our industry. The EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings requires that an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) must be provided when a property is built, sold, or rented out.

The person responsible for the construction of a building is responsible for obtaining an EPC and providing it to the owner when construction is completed, or when a building is converted into more or fewer units and there have been changes to key elements such as:

  • Air conditioning
  • Ventilation services
  • Heating
  • Hot water provision

Aside from the regulations surrounding energy efficiency, as energy costs rise more and more building owners are utilising materials and systems in the fabric of their building that reduce running costs.

Through our LABC partnership, we can not only carry out Energy Efficiency Assessments but also advise on how to ensure your design is energy efficient prior to the construction stage or improve existing ratings.
